Privacy Policy

Midas Nights (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a buff butler and event entertainment service operating across Scotland and the north of England. You can contact us at midas.nightsbutlering@gmail.com. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, Midas Nights is the data controller of your personal information.

When you make a booking, purchase a gift voucher, or contact us, we may collect: your name, email address, phone number, event address or postcode, event details (date, time, type, number of guests, package selection), any dietary or accessibility notes you provide, and payment confirmation details from our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card details — card data is handled entirely by Stripe.

We use your information to deliver the service you’ve booked, send booking confirmations and reminders, process deposits and balance payments, issue gift vouchers, respond to enquiries, and keep records of bookings as required by law (including HMRC tax records). We may also use your contact details to send occasional updates about bookings in progress. We will not send marketing emails without your consent.

We process your data on the following legal bases: (a) contract — to deliver the booking or voucher you’ve purchased; (b) legal obligation — to keep financial records; (c) legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries and improve our service; and (d) consent — where you’ve opted in to anything optional, such as marketing.

We share limited data only with trusted service providers who help us run the business:

• Stripe — to process card payments securely
• Resend — to deliver transactional booking and voucher emails
• Supabase / Vercel — to host the website and store booking records
• The performer(s) assigned to your booking — your name, event address, date, time, and any notes relevant to delivering the service

We will never sell your personal data. We only disclose data to other parties if legally required (for example, to HMRC or law enforcement).

Booking and payment records are kept for a minimum of 6 years to comply with UK tax and accounting law. Enquiry emails are kept for up to 12 months. Gift voucher records are kept until the voucher is redeemed or expired, plus 6 years for financial records. You can request earlier deletion — see your rights below.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you, correct any inaccuracies, request deletion (subject to our legal retention obligations), object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). Our website uses only essential cookies required to operate the booking flow (for example, keeping you logged into the customer portal). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

All payment data is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Our site uses HTTPS. Booking records are stored in a secured Supabase database with restricted access. While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of the page will always reflect the current version. Material changes will be communicated via the website.
